Mrs. Lea Michael

Mrs. Michael has been born and raised in Williamsport, MD.  Mrs. Michael attended Williamsport Elementary and Springfield Middle School, graduated from Williamsport High School, and graduated from Frostburg State University with a degree in Health and Physical Education.  Mrs. Michael taught four years in Frederick County at Brunswick Middle School before coming to Washington County.  This is her 16th year in Washington County.  She completed her Master’s Degree in Special Education in 2009.  Mrs. Michael also was a member of the 1995 Maryland State Volleyball team from Williamsport High School and played volleyball at Frostburg State University as a middle hitter.  She also played basketball and softball at Williamsport High School.  Mrs. Michael lives in Williamsport with her husband Eric, daughter Laken who is 17 years old, son Lucas who is 15 years old.

  • Master's degree in Special Education from Frostburg State University

 

Hobbies: Camping, Boating, Spending time with my family and friends, Cooking/Baking, Raystown Lake

 

Activities:  Springfield Middle School Girls Volleyball League, SIT Team Member, Unified Arts Team Leader, SAP Team member, Social Committee member

 

Favorite Singer:  TOBY KEITH!!!!!

 

Favorite Team:  Duke Blue Devils, Washington Redskins

 

Goal: My goal is to provide my students with the knowledge to live a healthy lifestyle and stay fit through lifetime fitness activities.

Mr. John Bailey

Mr. Bailey is a lifetime resident of Washington County. He has taught in Washington County for 33 years. He began career at Pleasant Valley Elementary School and has been a part of the Springfield Middle School staff for 12 years. Mr. Bailey is also very involved at WHS. Mr. Bailey is married and has two children. He also has 2 adorable granddaughters, Lily and Mae and a grandson, Bohdi.

  • B.S. in Health and Physical Education from Towson State University

  • Master's Degree from McDaniel University

 

Hobbies: Hunting and Fishing

 

Activities: Anything outdoors and watching former students play sports.

Mr. Zack Swisher
 

Mr. Swisher is in his 17th year as a Physical Education teacher here at Springfield.  I have lived in Washington County most of my life.  I grew up in Funkstown, Md. and attended South Hagerstown High School.  After finishing my post graduate degree at Frostburg State University I hope to continue my educational career in administration.  I am married with a son and daughter and currently live in West Virginia.
